Bethany McCamish was born in Portland Oregon. She completed her Master of Arts in Teaching with endorsements of English and Art at Concordia University in May of 2015 and currently works for Vancouver Public Schools. She teaches Photography, Graphic Design and Drawing.
Previously she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art with a concentration in photography from Marylhurst University in June, 2014. McCamish’s work has been included in various exhibitions including the 2011 Student Art Annual at the Archer Gallery in Vancouver Washington and Photolucida’s Then. Now. Here. screenings throughout Portland Oregon. Her abstract photographs in the series Possible Perspectives were shown at The Art Gym at Marylhurst University and Blackfish Gallery in Portland Oregon. Additionally, gave a TedxTalk regarding the impact of abstract photography in February 2016.
Currently, she is focusing on building a community for Phone Photography with her blog, her newest studio work "Nasty Weeds", and a budding interest in pinhole photography.
